I’ve discovered Feedly, which conveniently will sync with GR and import all your feeds, you just have to click something. Its a bit more colourful and magazine like as well. In still getting to grips with it but I like what I see.
Feedly announced yesterday that they will provide a seamless transition from Reader to their “clone of the Google Reader API – running on Google App Engine”. I have used Feedly instead of Reader for a long time and will be happy with this solution. I understand the frustration of the Fuhrer though, particularly with reference to the Google Glasses. http://blog.feedly.com/2013/03/14/google-reader/
Perhaps Google’s new glasses are impairing its vision and sending its driverless car down the wrong road?
If you think the end of Google Reader is frustrating, imagine what it was like for people who relied on Google’s free wifi access only to have the network deteriorate in late December 2012 and then get no explanation as to what was going on, why it was happening, and when it would be fixed. I was visiting a friend at the time, so I know how frustrating and inconvenient it was.
I switched to Feed Demon a while ago and have never looked back. It’s way better than Google Reader. You can export your feeds as an OPML file and then import them into feed demon. Give it a try! 😉
I read your post on feedly.com for the first time this morning. It’s tough but you’ll get through it.
As requested! https://www.change.org/petitions/google-keep-google-reader-running

Thanks for the tip Natalie.

Hehehe, almost as funny as ‘my OGA at the top’… 😀
But I’ll miss my reader…
