Book lovers from across Glasgow are being offered an exclusive opportunity to be immortalised in print, as a local author raffles the chance for one lucky winner to be written into his next book.
The raffle is being run in support of Oxfam, with Paisley-born author Paul Wandrum pledging that the winning ticket holder will become a character in his next crime novel.
Paul was inspired to offer the prize after taking part in Oxfam’s Byres Road Book Festival earlier in the year.
Paul said: “Oxfam is a charity that I feel strongly about and admire all the great work that has been done and continues to be done to fight poverty and injustice across the world.”
Tickets cost £3 and are available from Oxfam’s Byres Road Bookshop. The winning ticket will be drawn on Christmas Eve.
Elena Avila, Manager of Oxfam’s Byres Road Bookshop, said: “We all know someone who is tricky to buy for, but it’s hard to think of a more unique gift than the chance to be immortalised in print as a character in a novel. Of course, each ticket that’s purchased isn’t just a shot at creating a lasting memory for one lucky person, it also helps support Oxfam’s lifesaving work around the world. What could be a better gift?”
