FIGHTING GLOBAL HUNGER: THE NEXT ROUND
This year the Enough Food for Everyone IF campaign – with your support – put the scandal of hunger on the global agenda. World leaders made historic commitments to tackle global hunger:
A crack down on tax dodging;
£4.1bn for child nutrition;
Finance to help adapt to climate change;
Recognition, for the first time, that land grabbing harms poor communities;
The UK promise to spend 0.7% of its budget on aid.
Achievements well worth celebrating!And we will be celebrating them – in St Woolos Cathedral, Newport, on Sunday 27 October.
IF OS Cymru invites you to the BIG IF Wales!
Sunday 27 October 2013, 3-4 pm with refreshments afterwards
St Woolos Cathedral, Stow Hill, Newport NP20 4EA
This will be an interactive, reflective celebration, looking forward to a world free from hunger. With music, a campaign exhibition, and contributions from campaigners of various faiths or none. But we also need to keep up the pressure for delivery on those promises. And ensure that Wales plays its part in the fight to end global hunger.
Will you join us?
